1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Intro: It could be this year—no prophecy is left to be fulfilled. This could be the year Jesus returns. If we truly believe this it will change our lives forever.
I. The background of the rapture. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15
A. Confusion - because they misunderstood about the death of believers being asleep.
B. Certainty – the dead (in Christ) will be part of the rapture and Jesus is coming back.
II. The events of the rapture. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
A. A return of Jesus with the voice of the archangel and trumpet of God.
B. A resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:55
C. A rapture.
D. A reunion with believers and with the Lord Jesus Christ.
III. The timing of the rapture.
A. No one knows. Matthew 24:36
B. We can know the seasons. Matthew 24:33
C. Live with expectancy.
IV. The impact of the rapture.
A. Are you going up when Christ comes back? How can I know? Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23
B. Who are you taking with you? So share the Gospel.
C. Are you ready to meet Jesus Christ? 1 John 2:28
D. Do you need hope today? 1 Thessalonians 4:18 Why would the rapture give hope—because death is not the end.

Obadiah 1-21

A. Edom’s doom is certain in spite of her strength.
B. Edom’s doom is certain in spite of her allies.
C. Edom’s doom is certain in spite of her wisdom.
II. The cause for Edom’s doom. Obadiah 10-14
A. Edom ignored Judah’s need.
B. Edom rejoiced in Judah’s demise.
C. Edom prevented Judah’s escape.
III. The consequences from Edom’s doom. Obadiah 15-21
A. The nations will be judged.
B. Judah will be delivered.
C. Christ will rule as Lord.
